Stephen started practicing law in Charlotte in 1976. He represents individuals and companies in business and commercial real estate transactions, and individuals and families in estate planning and estate administration. In all of his work, Stephen strives to apply his years of experience and knowledge of tax law, to take into account any applicable tax considerations. Stephen enjoys working with business owners, particularly when dealing with the transaction of a business, and has been involved in transactions where businesses have sold for a nominal consideration, as well as a sale to an international conglomerate for in excess of forty million dollars.
Stephen has practiced with Essex Richards since 1982. In 2005, the firm chose him to become managing partner, where he has served as one of the leaders of the firm, and manages the firm’s business and administrative matters.
